Jean Doran is an artist, illustrator, and designer based in Brooklyn. He graduated from Pratt Institute in 2025 with a BFA in Communications Design. He uses diverse media to visualize narratives investigating bodily control. He was awarded RisoRama’s 2025 student award for his book My Foul Beast and completed his SVA RisoLAB Artist Residency in the summer of 2025.
He is the main coordinator of Bad Dog Print, which is a collective of artists, illustrators, designers, drawers, painters, book makers, self publishers, party animals, nerds, and jocks. Bad Dog hosts events, tables at fairs in NYC, and even travels to far away places (like Canada) to spread print love. Bad Dog has been selected to table at events such as Printed Matter’s New York Art Book Fair (2025), East Village Zine Fair (2024), and Brooklyn Art Book Fair (2024).
